From Nebbiolo to Nero d’Avola

  • The Oenophile Institute 1295 W Spring St Smyrna, GA, 30080 United States (map)

This class is intended for Italophiles, WSET & WSG students, and anyone craving a deeper dive into the wines that define a nation.

Italy’s wine map is a mosaic of culture and climate, from the misty hills of Barolo to the sun-drenched slopes of Sicily. This mid-level tasting class explores the four pillars of Italian wine: Piemonte, Veneto, Tuscany, and Sicily. You’ll taste benchmark styles while unpacking what makes each region’s grapes, traditions, and terroirs distinct — Nebbiolo’s perfume, Sangiovese’s structure, volcanic minerality, and more. Along the way, we’ll connect history to flavor, exploring why Italy remains both endlessly classic and constantly evolving.
