The Champagne Specialist Course from Comité Champagne offers an in-depth exploration into the world of Champagne, covering its rich history, unique terroir, production methods, and diverse styles. Participants gain specialized knowledge and skills essential for understanding and recommending one of the world's most renowned sparkling wines, recognized globally for its quality and heritage.

Program Details

Program will be offered in a 2 Day Intensive and 5 Week Course formats. This will include:

  • 12 hours with educator

  • 2 hour assessment

At least 7 hours of preparation is expected:

  • All candidates must complete Level 2 of the Comite’s E-Learning program. This is no additional cost and takes about 90 minutes. You may not sit for the course exam if you have not completed this.

  • Read the student booklet

This program is ideal for professionals and students: wine merchants, sommeliers, food distribution professionals, restaurant professionals, executives/buyers/salespeople in the wine and spirits industry, professionals in the wine industry, tourism professionals, wine journalists, importers, wine trainers, students in the hotel and restaurant industry and in the luxury industry.

  • Understanding and interpreting Champagne wine labels.

    Describing and assessing Champagne wines.

    Knowing how to store and serve Champagne wines in optimal conditions.

    Being able to recommend a Champagne wine by ascertaining a customer’s expectations and requirements and then making a range of proposals suited to their request.

    Pairing food and Champagne wines.

  • Focus is on practice with workshops allowing students to apply the knowledge acquired.

    Develop consulting skills required for the exercise of professional activities such as recommending, serving, selling, and purchasing Champagne wines and managing a cellar.

    This program is created and certified by the Comité Champagne: the content is up to date and you are guaranteed to have a global vision of Champagne.

    Course limited to small groups to encourage interactivity and active participation.
