Some of the best wine moments happen when the conversation gets a little strange. Spooky Wine Society is an evening dedicated to exactly that. This time, the wine gets darker. The stories get stranger. The lights stay low.
Jett Kolarik is bringing back one of our favorite events, and this year it comes with a few new tricks. We are screening snippets from some of the great horror films of all time, pairing each scene with a wine and a bite built to match the mood, and leaving plenty of room for the room itself to join in. If you have been holding onto a story that only comes out at this time of year, this is the night to tell it.
The format moves scene by scene. Film clip, pour, food pairing, and a short walk through why each pairing works with the moment on screen. In between, the floor opens up for anyone who wants to share a tale of their own. We have a few of our own queued up as backup.
Costumes are welcome. Skeptics are welcome. Believers are especially welcome.
