Small Supports Small: Our Favorite Micro-Producers

  • The Oenophile Institute 1295 W Spring St Smyrna, GA, 30080 United States (map)

Who It's For: Small Business Saturday supporters, independent wine fans, curious drinkers ready to meet their new favorite producer, community regulars, and anyone who already shops the back shelf and wants to go further.

Small Business Saturday hits a little different in our world. We are a small shop built on the work of small producers, so this year we are pouring a class entirely dedicated to the tiny estates, garage-level winemakers, and family growers who make up our favorite corner of the wine world. The kind of producers whose annual output you could fit in a van. The kind of wines that only reach your glass because someone, somewhere, insisted on carrying them.

We taste through a lineup of our personal favorites, with a focus on growers producing a few thousand cases a year or less. Along the way we cover why small-scale winemaking matters, what you actually get when you buy a bottle from an operation of this size, and how to find more of these producers once you start looking. No big-name labels, no corporate consolidations, no exceptions. Just the smallest of the small, poured by the people who think they deserve more attention.
