Riesling vs Chenin Blanc: A Blind Tasting Showdown

  • The Oenophile Institute 1295 W Spring St Smyrna, GA, 30080 United States (map)

Perfect for anyone who loves acidity, blind tasting enthusiasts, and anyone ready to question their own palate preferences.

Riesling and Chenin Blanc are two of the most versatile (and often misunderstood) grapes in the wine world. In this blind tasting showdown, we’ll put them head-to-head across four styles: sparkling, dry, off-dry, and noble rot. Each wine will be served blind, removing bias and forcing your palate to lead the way.

Along the way, we’ll explore how these grapes express acidity, texture, sweetness, and ageability, and why they can sometimes mimic each other more than expected. The goal isn’t to crown a winner. It’s to challenge assumptions, sharpen your tasting skills, and maybe rethink which grape you thought you loved.
