Looking to learn about wine? Our WSET Level 1 course equips you with the essential skills to talk and taste like a pro.
For individuals new to wine study, this qualification provides a hands-on introduction to the world of wine. You’ll explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately and make food and wine pairings. Upon successful completion, you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.
There is no previous knowledge necessary to enroll in this course.

During this course, you will learn about:
The primary types and styles of wine
The key characteristics of commonly used wine grape varieties
Proper wine storage and serving techniques
The fundamental principles of pairing food and wine
How to use the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT) to describe wine accurately.

The WSET Level 1 can be completed in 3 weekly classes or short, 1-day intensives.

This qualification is intended for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of wines or those seeking to build on the introductory knowledge gained with the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines. You’ll gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you’ll explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence.
While completing WSET Level 1 Award in Wines prior to registering for WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is recommended, it is not a prerequisite.

WSET Level 2 can be completed in 6 weekly classes or a short, 4-day intensive.
This course is designed to help you attain the following skills by the end of WSET Level 2:
Recognize the primary grape varieties cultivated globally and the different styles produced from them, including sparkling and fortified wine.
Interpret label information to comprehend a wine's quality and style.
Understand general wine cultivation and winemaking techniques.
Refine your tasting skills using WSET's Level 2 Systematic Approach to Wine Tasting (SAT).

To acquire this certification, a minimum of 29 hours of study time is required, which includes:
17 hours of instruction time with a WSET course provider, either in a classroom or online.
12 hours of self-study and review.
